The operator of the ANSWER app ("the App") (hereinafter "we" or "the Operator") respects the privacy of users of the App and is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information.

2. Purpose of Data Collection

We collect the following data for the provision and operation of the App, and for improvement and analysis based on user consent:

• Information for account authentication and personal data synchronization (e.g., email address, user identifiers)
• Location data for round recording, shot recording, and map display
• Anonymized usage and statistical data when enabled by the user (for app improvement and analysis)

3. Types of Data Collected

3.1 Account and Authentication Data

• Email address (obtained via Sign in with Apple or email/password authentication)
• User identifiers (IDs issued by us or the authentication provider)
• Identifiers set within the app such as Agent ID (used for display and cloud synchronization)

3.2 Data Collected and Stored for App Features

Round and shot data

Scores, putts, date, shot data (coordinates of tee position, target, and landing point), club information, statistics such as Strokes Gained, and environmental data (weather, wind direction, wind speed). These are stored in the cloud linked to the user's account and used for multi-device use and data restoration.

Location data

Collected only while in use for golf course map display and shot recording. May be included as coordinates in round/shot data.

Course information

Course ID, name, etc. of courses used. Stored as part of round data.

3.3 Analytics Data (Anonymized) When Enabled by User

Only when data collection is set to ON in the Config menu, we send the following data in anonymized form and use it for app improvement and statistical analysis.

• Round statistics (scores, putts, Strokes Gained, fairway keep rate, GIR rate, etc.)
• Aggregated data by shot and hole (in a form that does not identify individuals)
• Device model, OS version, app version

User IDs are hashed and round IDs etc. are anonymized before transmission.

3.4 Data We Do Not Collect

• Phone number (when not used for authentication)
• We do not use data for advertising delivery or tracking by third parties.
• Analytics data is not sent when Config is set to OFF.

4. Purpose of Data Use

Collected data is used only for the following purposes:

• Provision of the App (authentication, cloud storage, map display, shot recording, billing features)
• Data synchronization and restoration across multiple devices
• App improvement and statistical analysis using anonymized data when the user has turned it ON

We do not use data for:

• Advertising or marketing
• Sale of data to third parties
• Tracking users on other apps or websites

5. Timing of Data Transmission and Storage

Round and shot data is transmitted to the cloud at the time of save or sync.

Analytics data (anonymized) is sent at designated times such as after round completion when Config is ON. When offline, it may be stored locally and sent when connection is restored.

6. User Control

Analytics data collection

You can turn collection ON or OFF in the Config menu. The default is ON. When set to OFF, anonymized analytics data will not be sent.

Account and round data

Authentication and cloud storage are core features of the App; disabling them means cloud sync and related features cannot be used. For account deletion or data deletion requests, please contact us.

7. Data Retention

Round and shot data linked to an account is retained for as long as the account exists, to the extent necessary for service provision.

Anonymized analytics data may be deleted after a certain period following use for statistical analysis. For details, please contact us.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell collected data to third parties or share it for advertising or tracking purposes, except in the following cases:

• When required by law
• When entrusting to cloud service providers etc. to the extent necessary for provision of the App (managed appropriately under contract)

9. Data Security

We implement the following to protect data:

• Encryption of communications (e.g., HTTPS)
• Access control and appropriate operations

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 16 years of age (in line with App Store age ratings). We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 16.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy takes effect when posted in the App or on https://answer.golf. We will notify users of material changes via the app or website.

This Privacy Policy shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan.
